Chair-elect Continuing Professional Development for SGEA

Congratulations to Dr. Lecretia A. Buckley, recently chosen as the Chair-elect for the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) section of the Southern Group on Educational Affairs (SGEA) of the AAMC. She was confirmed at the 2025 SGEA annual meeting in April. After serving as chair-elect for one year, Dr. Buckley will assume the role of CPD Chair. She serves on the SGEA Steering Committee for her tenure as chair-elect and chair.

The CPD section’s mission is to promote excellence in education of health professionals throughout their careers. As regional chair, Dr. Buckley will represent the agenda of the national CPD Section to the region, act as the liaison from the region to the national CPD Section Steering Committee, assist the national CPD Section Chair to develop the program for the national CPD Section meetings, and promote cross-section and cross-regional collaboration and scholarly activity. Other sections include UME, GME, and Medical Education Scholarship Research and Evaluation (MESRE).
